Contactless payments have reached a critical point, says Visa Europe, with the rate of more than 19 million transactions carried out in March in Europe. Contactless transactions in the UK have increased significantly in 2013. 1.5 million contactless transactions were carried out in London buses in the period from December to March, Marks & Spencer stores process 230,000 contactless transactions every week and Post Office has installed contactless payment terminals in 11,000 points.
