A new report by the World Bank informs about a sharp reduction (20%) in the number of unbanked consumers in the world. During the period from 2011 to 2014, about 700 million users have joined the formal banking system and became the owners of the accounts. Over the past three years, the percentage of customers holding the bank accounts, increased from 51% to 62%, mainly due to the development of technologies and the banking sector in developing countries.
