Forecast of electronic money development from the experts at the conference eCom21

On November 13-14, 2014, the largest in the Baltics and Eastern Europe conference eCom21 took place in Riga, dedicated to online business. Traditionally, the forum was organized by the largest private bank in Latvia Rietumu. This year, the event brought together representatives of the leading players in the global and regional markets to discuss primarily trends and practical aspects of the use of electronic money and virtual currencies.

Such focus of the conference on e-money was caused by the fact that today the electronic money is one of the most promising and rapidly developing areas of online business. That's why representatives of companies such as Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, ECommPay, QIWI, Allied Wallet, PayOnline, Yandex.Money, Neteller, WireCapital, Bitcoin Foundation, Payture, Alpari Group, CEX.IO presented their reports and discussed the most important questions during the panel discussions.

Speakers and guests considered the conceptual aspects of the implementation and use of electronic money, their perspectives, the possibility of interaction of this tool with other means of payment, the use of electronic wallets, the evolution of virtual money, the prospects for payments via smartphones, as well as the latest trends in the regulation of electronic money market, technological aspects and the reliability of virtual settlements.
